Canatara Park, Sarnia

The sandy beach located within Sarnia’s Canatara Park stretches nearly a kilometer along the shore of Lake Huron near the mouth of the St. Clair River. This urban beach has plenty of kid-friendly activities and is close to any urban comforts you might require. Just how great is this beach? Canatara Beach is one of only 26 in Canada to have earned official Blue Flag status for its commitment to strict water quality and safety criteria.

The beach also features mats to make the beach more accessible to people using wheelchairs or strollers.

With 3000 feet of sandy Lake Huron beach, playgrounds, an animal farm, BMX bike track, children’s mini train and 200 acres of park with trails and picnic area, there are plenty of options for keeping kids busy.

Try the CRUISE THE ST. CLAIR RIVER & HURON SHORE ROUTE, a 2.5-hour, 130-km/81-mile ride along the sparkling blue waters of southern Lake Huron and the St. Clair River.
